AI UGC video ads for mobile apps: from store listing to install ads

How to make UGC-style app install ads with AI from an App Store or Google Play listing: the styles that work for software, the hooks to test, and what to avoid.

App marketers need a constant supply of fresh creatives, because install campaigns fatigue fast and every new audience wants a different angle. UGC-style ads, a person telling the viewer why they should try an app, are a staple of TikTok, Reels and Shorts install campaigns. AI makes it possible to produce them at the pace those campaigns consume them.

Start from the store listing

The listing is the best brief you already have: the subtitle states the promise, the description lists the features, and the screenshots show the interface. Paste the App Store or Google Play URL and check the brief the tool extracts. Then add what the listing rarely says: who the app is really for and the moment someone reaches for it.

Ad styles that suit software

  • Talking to camera: a presenter speaks to the problem, with your screenshots called out on screen. The workhorse for install ads.
  • Photo montage: your screenshots and visuals with motion and a voiceover, for quick feature-led variations.
  • Illustrated: drawn scenes of the situation the app solves, narrated, when you have few visuals.

Hooks worth testing

  • The situation: “If you always forget what you spent this week…”
  • The objection: “I didn’t think I needed another app for this.”
  • The comparison with the old way: “I used to do this in a spreadsheet.”
  • The single feature that surprises: one specific thing, said in the first two seconds.

Write three or four angles, render each with two presenters, and judge them on install cost and the share of viewers who stay past the hook. Then write new hooks for the angle that wins rather than polishing the losers.

What to avoid

  • Earnings, savings or health outcomes the app cannot substantiate.
  • Ratings, download counts or awards that are not current and verifiable.
  • A presenter framed as a long-time user: a synthetic person never used the app.
  • Screens that do not exist in the app you are advertising.

Doing it with AdFace

AdFace recognises App Store and Google Play links and treats them as an app: it reads the listing, drafts an editable brief and offers the talking, photo and illustrated styles, adding generated scenes when an app has little to show. Scripts are approved before anything renders, ads export in 9:16, 1:1 and 4:5 with burned-in captions, and they can be made in English, French and Arabic from the same brief.

Questions this answers

Can I use AdFace for a SaaS product rather than a mobile app?
Yes. Paste the product’s website or describe it in your own words. Software is handled like an app: a presenter talking to the problem, your screenshots, and generated scenes where needed.
Will the ad show my real app screens?
It shows the screenshots and images from your listing or the files you upload. AdFace does not invent interface screens; generated scenes illustrate the situation, not the app.
